CONSIDER YOUR DATE
Are you or any of your family members superstitious? If so, you should skip the 13th May 2022, along with the 13th January and 13th October 2023, as they all fall on a Friday.
If a group of your friends are huge sports fans it is worth checking to see if any big sporting events take place in the month you are looking at. No-one wants to see their guests staring at their phones watching football instead of enjoying your wedding day!
For example: The Fifa World Cup will be taking place from 21st November – 18th December 2022
On the plus side, perhaps you can look to book your wedding so it falls over a bank holiday weekend, giving all your guests extra days off work to attend! We have picked out some notable ones for your diaries.
2022 Bank Holidays
May Bank Holiday – Monday 2nd May
Spring Bank Holiday – Monday 30th May
2023 Bank Holidays

Spring Bank Holiday – Monday 29th May
SECURE YOUR SUPPLIERS
The earlier you start your planning the more likely you are to secure all your dream suppliers. Take advantage of recommendations from your venue or booked suppliers for other suppliers they love working with. Having a group of people who work well together can only help in making your planning process simpler. If you are using a wedding planner (find our local recommendations here), take their advice on board when looking for the right supplier.
